Bio There is some info about James on the Australian Convict Records Site.2
Research CWA has him marrying Elizabeth Weldon 30.4.1855 Guildford C/E. This man was RC and married with 5 chn (not necessarily a barrier to mge!).

However it seems likely that the James Taylor murdered by his son in Victoria Plains in 1878 was the same James Taylor that married Elizabeth Weldon. The death registration has him born approx 1828 which is out by 20 years for this man. Also James Taylor #2788 received permission to marry in Dec 1854.

We have moved the details of the marriage to Elizabeth Weldon to #2788 for the time being as that currently appears to best fit the known facts.
