Research There is some uncertainy between this man and James Taylor #987 who arrived on the Marion.

CWA and some trees on Ancestry and convict notes in other places suggest that #987 married Elizabeth Weldon and died in Victoria Plains in 1897.

It appears more likely that this man (#2788) was the husband of Elizabeth Weldon and it was him who was murdered by his son in 1878.

- This man was CE and #987 was RC
- The death registration has him born approx 1828 which fits this man but is out by 20 years for #987
- Ths man received permission to marry in Dec 1854

We have removed the middle name "Samuel" from 987 as we can't find a reference for the middle name for either man.

If we learn more we will make adjustments.
